Giving at Southwinds

At Southwinds, we have two ways we give and build a culture of generosity:

Our Regular Tithes and Offerings
As established in Scripture, this enables the Southwinds family to give back a portion of what God has entrusted into their care.

Our NextGen Gifts
Our Spiritual Initiative to Invest in our Future, Grow our Campus, and Reach Our Region for Jesus Christ. This 36-month journey began in summer of 2016 and will conclude in 2019.

Generosity is an essential part of following Christ.

We believe giving cheerfully and sacrificially is an act of worship that blesses the giver as much as the receiver (2 Corinthians 9:6-7) and reflects our love for Christ.

When we give out of love for Christ it causes many changes within us. Here are a few to think about:

Generosity makes us more like God. God is the ultimate giver. (John 3:16)
Generosity draws us closer to God. (Matthew 6:21)
Generosity helps us realize the true ownership of ALL of our possessions. (1 Chronicles 29:11-12)
Generosity teaches us to trust and submit everything to God. (Deuteronomy 14:22-23)
Generosity defeats the idolatry of money and its power in our lives. (Matthew 6:24)

Southwinds 2017 budget

Our budget is a ministry plan and tool to help us accomplish our God-given purposes. It is a faith document that trusts in God’s provision and challenges us to greater generosity.

CELEBRATING GENEROSITY

We received $1,324,841 in General Fund giving in 2016. In addition, $663,851 has already been received for NextGen! Thank you to everyone who has given faithfully. A reminder and challenge: a small bit of faithfulness from everyone makes a big difference. Example: if every Southwinds family had increased their giving by $10 a week this year, we would currently be significantly over our budget. We pray that in 2017, many more will be faithful and generous.
